Fastum Gel

Fastum Gel is a colorless, non-greasy gel with fragrant odor. Fastum Gel contains the active substance Ketoprofen that acts as prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor in providing effective anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent to painful rheumatic condition, muscular disorders and soft tissue injuries (acute strains and sprains).

Fastum Gel is indicated for the relief of pain and inflammation associated to rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis symptoms including muscular disorders and soft tissue injuries such as: strains and sprains in the joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles; acute musculo-skeletal injuries. Fastum Gel is also prescribed for the general management of pain and pain associated to menstruation (e.g. dysmenorrheal).

Gently massaged a desired amount (5 to10 cmof Fastum Gel from tube or 3 to 6 pushes from the pump dispenser) into the affected site two to three times a day. Always clean your hands before and after each application. Treatment duration must not exceed 10 days. Consult your doctor, if you observed no improvement on your condition during the period of treatment.

Fastum Gel is contraindicated to patients who have shown hypersensitive reactions to any of its ingredients. Fastum Gel may increase the risk of certain health conditions; inform your doctor of your medical history for him to assess your compatibility with Fastum Gel.

Fastum Gel is not safe for use on patients below 12 years of age; have recent or impending heart surgery; pregnant or breastfeeding mothers; or have existing health condition affecting the kidney, heart, liver or lungs.

Fastum Gel may cause irritation if applied on broken or infected skin sites. Avoid exposure of the treated sites into the sunlight during the treatment period and 2 weeks thereafter to avoid serious skin reactions. It is recommended not to apply airtight dressing on the affected site as this can increase the risk of skin irritation. Immediately stop treatment if you observed any of the signs of allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, rashes, hives or unexplained swelling.

Fastum Gel is well tolerated by the body; however, some patients may experience side effects as a drawback to treatment. These side effects are seldom rare and may not be a cause to worry. The following are the side effects associated on its use: increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, skin irritation or itching, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting. Fastum Gel may cause serious side effects such as, mood changes, depression, unusual tiredness, difficulty sleeping, blurred vision and other visual/optical problems.
