Ginette-35

Ginette-35 containing the active ingredients Cyproterone Acetate and Ethinylestradiol is both an oestrogen and an anti-androgen type of medication. Ginette-35 can be used to treat severe acne in women who have not responded to well to oral antibiotics treatments and abnormal hair growth in women as a result of hirsutism. Women who are using the tablets for acne and hair growth treatment may also use it as an oral contraceptive but it should not be used solely as a contraceptive.

Ginette-35 should be taken orally once per day, starting with the pill marked with the correct day of the week or as otherwise directed by a doctor. The tablets can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a glass of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and treatment pattern as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the treatment. Ginette-35 should be taken whole and not chewed, broken or split prior to consuming. If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible and if you miss 2 consecutive doses it will increase the risk you may become pregnant after sex.

Patients using Ginette-35 may encounter unwanted side effects such as: headaches, coughing, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, vaginal thrush, breast tenderness or pain. 

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as: change in, enstrual bleeding, mental or mood changes, decreased sex drive, rapid and unusual weight changes, vaginal or breast discharge, jaundice.

Ginette-35 can be used as an oral contraceptive but is not 100% effective.

Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.

Ginette-35 is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using Ginette-35 if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.

The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. Ginette-35 is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
