Each tablet contains: 

Atazanavir - 300 mg

Ritonavir  - 100 mg.

Atazanavir and Ritonavir are the primary active ingredients present in the drug Synthivan. It is one of the most important antiretroviral drug. It belongs to the category of protease inhibitor (PI) class. Atazanavir and Ritonavir has potential to fight against many viruses like herpes, shingles, chickenpox and many more. It is available in the dosage form of tablets intended for the oral consumption

Synthivan is employed to treat infection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Atazanavir is distinguished from other PIs in that it can be given once-daily (rather than requiring multiple doses per day).Ritonavir isan HIV protease inhibitor that helps by interfering with the reproductive cycle of HIV virus.

The drug's mechanism of action for Ritonavir is believed to be a protease inhibitor with activity against Human immunological disorder Virus kind one (HIV-1). Protease inhibitors block the part of HIV known as protease. And Atazanavir (ATV) is associate mino acid peptide HIV-1 antiviral drug (PI) with activity against Human immunodeficiency Virus sort one (HIV-1). HIV-1 protease enzyme is an enzyme needed for the proteolytic cleavage of the viral polyprotein precursors into the individual purposeful proteins found in infectious HIV-1. Atazanavir binds to the protease active site and inhibits the activity of the enzyme.

Side effects: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; muscle pain, mild itching or rash; headache, dizziness, depressed mood, sleep problems (insomnia); numbness or burning pain in your hands or feet; or changes in the shape or location of body fat (especially in your arms, legs, face, neck, breasts, and waist).
