Zonisep

Zonisep is an anti-seizure medication prescribed to patients suffering from epilepsy and seizures associated with this condition. It helps to keep the condition under control and is usually used in combination with other medication. Zonisep is chemically classed as a sulfonamide and is not related to any other anti-seizure medication.

Zonisep blocks the sodium and calcium channels. It works by increasing the GABA production. GABA is a neurotransmitter that blocks the excitation of neurons. Zonisep also slows down the breakdown of GABA.

The noraml dosage for Zonisep will vary depending on individual factors such as your health condition and the severity of your symptoms. Always visit your physician to discuss your dosage and follow the directions and advice given. A typical dose of Zonisep is 1 or 2 pills per day which can be taken either with or without food. The pills need swallowed whole. Do not crush, chew, or dissolve its contents as this could result in severe side effects. Never self-medicate or change your dosage without first consulting your doctor.
